Ammee's Babies made its debut in February of 2008 at CHA in Anaheim, CA.  We are the only company that has brought to market a genuine and complete, ready to edge with crochet hemstitched kit made in the USA.  Our mission is to create products that are excellent in craftsmanship and value.  Our name is on it, we stand behind it 100%. 

About Ammee




Shortly after my first grand-daughter, Madison, started talking, we realized that she had a 'new' name for me.  Whenever she saw me, she would stretch out her little arms towards me, and then she would say 'Ammee'.  After a few times, my daughter and I realized that, that was her way of saying "grandma hold me".  That was six years ago, since then, Madison and the rest of my grand children all call me Ammee.  What better name to call our company than Ammee's Babies.  I know that each and every one of our blankets is lovingly crocheted for someone's precious baby. 

Over the last few years, I have enjoyed learning many crafts.  Somehow I always return to my first love--crocheting. My first grade teacher taught our entire class how to crochet.  Imagine, a group of six year olds trying to figure out how to hold a hook.  I admire the teacher that would take on such a task.  We started with the basic scarf, then moved on to a more serious project, a beanie.  

Even though trends always change, crocheting seems to remain timeless.  My crocheting skill has blessed the lives of my entire family; a handmade gift has always been more meaningful to give and to receive.  So much goes into it,  a crocheted gift says "I love you".

What would life be without crafting?  Boring.  That creative part inside all of us would never have a chance to show what's deep inside our hearts.  Crafting, I believe, allows us to peek at those divine elements within us.

I hope you'll enjoy creating our blankets, bibs, and burp cloths for all your new precious family additions.  They are practical, comfy, and durable; we like to think of our receiving blankets and burp cloths as the workhorse of any modern and stylish nursery.  Enjoy!

Our Mission

Cony Larsen, Founder and CEO of Ammee's Babies, began her “Blankets for Babies" project after viewing a documentary on Honduran newborns that were sent home from the hospital wrapped in newspaper, after the country had been devastated by severe flooding. She also learned of similar conditions existing in Guatemala, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador as well as other countries.

Cony decided she wanted to help but she knew she couldn't do it alone; hence, creating Ammee's Babies would be an excellent medium to accomplish this task.  Ammee's Babies mission is to make the world a better and softer place for under-privileged children.

Cony's love for crocheting baby blankets, her experience in developing and manufacturing products, combined with her commitment to community service, is why Ammee's Babies Blankets for Babies project was created.  Ammee's Babies is committed to making a difference in the way a newborn begins life in our world, and in serving the communities in which we live.  It's a natural fit for us.
